Principal Welcome

Hello! My name is Katie Bourneuf, and it is with great joy and enthusiasm that I introduce myself as the new principal of St. Sylvester School. I am humbled and honored to serve such a vibrant and diverse community here in Palmer Square. I have had the privilege of working as an educator in various roles, including Grade Level Chair Lead, Assessment Specialist, Coach, and English Language Arts teacher in the Noble Schools charter network and in the Houston area. I hold a Bachelor's degree in English Literature from Loras College with an endorsement in English as a Second Language, and I am currently pursuing a Masters in Leadership Education, set to be completed in December 2023. I currently reside in the South Loop with my husband and our son. In my personal time, I enjoy reading historical fiction novels and books on education and instruction. I also enjoy running outside and walking along the lake. As the second oldest of ten children, I value family and community. I look forward to leading the St. Sylvester family through an incredible new school year. Go Sonics!
