Welcome to Principal's Corner
Welcome to the Principal's Corner! I am Mrs. Wright (Don't worry, "Ms. Doyle" didn't go anywhere. I just got married!) and I am so excited to be working with the incredible students, staff, and families at St. Sylvester School! This is my fourth year as the principal and my eighth year as an educator here.
I earned my B.A. in Psychology and Spanish from Saint Anselm College in Manchester, New Hampshire, just twenty minutes from where I grew up with my mom, dad, brother, and sister. After college, I was accepted to the University of Notre Dame's Alliance for Catholic Education Teaching Fellowship Program where I earned my Master's degree in education. In May, I graduated with another M.Ed, this time from Loyola University in Chicago, specializing in Administration and Supervision.
I also completed a fellowship program in May with the University of Notre Dame's Center for Transformational Educational Leadership. In this program, I spent two years collaborating with other Chicago Catholic school principals and traveling around the country to learn innovative strategies that were being implemented in other schools that strengthened the community and improved teaching and learning. It is through this program that I learned many important leadership lessons that have helped me fall in love even more with school leadership and the never-ending work of school improvement. I am currently a Big Shoulders Fund Sullivan Fellow and recipient of the 2020 Polk Bros. Foundation Leadership Incentive Award.
In my spare time, I train and coach strength and conditioning at Defined Training in Chicago's Lakeview neighborhood. I also love reading, cooking, hiking, and drinking lots and lots of coffee!
School leadership is my passion and I am blessed to be here at St. Sylvester School. There is nothing like the St. Sylvester family. We are...SONICS!
