St. Sylvester Catholic School is proud to share with you the educational experiences and the programs that make our school so successful. Located directly across from beautiful Palmer Park, St. Sylvester School has served the Logan Square community for over 100 years. We are a loving and dynamic school community, committed to the academic, social, and spiritual growth of all our students.
What We Do
St. Sylvester is a Catholic Elementary School dedicated to providing academic excellence and spiritual development within a safe and nurturing community.
As an integral part of the parish community, St. Sylvester School extends the parish mission through its dedication to enhancing children's potential, by providing a quality Catholic education.
The school aims to educate the whole child within a safe, welcoming, and supportive environment that embraces both Christian values and the diversity of the community.

Our Community
Located across from Palmer Park along the historic boulevards of Chicago, St. Sylvester School has been a community fixture for more than a century. The Logan Square neighborhood in which the school stands was once the home for the nouveau riche of Chicago and mansions along the boulevards testify to this history.

Sonic Pledge
I am a St. Sylvester Sonic.
I believe in myself and I believe in my brothers and sisters; that we can be
Respectful,
Responsible,
Resilient and
Ready to Learn.
I believe that I am always learning; that when I struggle and when I fail, I am growing and becoming a better person.
I believe in the good of my community and that sometimes, I must give up what I want for what WE need. Together, we are a family united by God’s love for us and our love for each other.
